new london walk: week two #2
New London Agency, dirt on my shoes and cars swish by. A Mountain Dew bottle from a week ago and a brand new Jeep Cherokee blue with a trail rated sign on it. A Easter flag for the upcoming holiday with pink, yellow, blue, and purple. Looking out the window pains, a white wooden fence with dead grass and gross tree with empty branches. A lady leaves her minivan with her red coat and her daughter. She walks into Morgan Hill bookstore and music. A Colorado licenses plate witch is a little out of place and a Citco sign with no gas station around. Whatever. Bobby walks towards me with his timberland boots on and interesting black hat that all the boys wear around campus. I come to a New London Inn sign 1792. I walk up the old stairs with chipped green paint and can see the original paint job underneath it. I sit on an old green chair on the porch. And a sign that faces me and it reads “Now serving dinner” dead plants in the garden and little white pebbles border the railings walking up the old stairs. A FedEx box for outgoing mail and an American flag walk down Pleasant Street.
